Maria Chapman
Counsellor & Psychotherapist · BACP
Maria is a qualified person-centred counsellor and accredited member of the BACP (MBACP Accred.), working with adults and young people aged 11 and over across the Nuneaton and Coventry area. Her work helps clients process difficult emotions, understand themselves more deeply, and work through the emotional barriers affecting daily life.
She offers a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space to slow down and explore your thoughts and feelings, sitting alongside you in your journey of self-exploration. In such a hectic world, she notes, we rarely give ourselves time out to explore how we truly feel. Maria works with you to reconnect with your authentic self, to better understand your needs and desires, and to overcome whatever stands in the way.
A core belief in her work is that people already possess the internal resources they need for growth and change, but often lose connection to them through stress, trauma, life pressures or emotional pain. Her approach is collaborative and client-led: as she puts it, you are the expert and she will be led by you. Rooted in person-centred therapy, the therapeutic relationship itself is central to her work, rather than structured interventions or heavily clinical techniques.
She has experience supporting clients with trauma, addiction, abuse, depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, and relationship difficulties. Maria is committed to working within the BACP's Ethical Framework.
